Why I Have A Coach

How do you feel about “shiny new things”? Aren’t they absolutely lovely, wonderful and indispensible? My hard drive is groaning under the load of free and paid for “shiny new things.”

They all were “the absolute latest, hottest must-have products,” ebooks, webinars, shorter and longer courses, PLR products and what have you, that would “make you rich overnight by simply pressing a button.” So why am I not rich?

Sure, I made progress and learned quite a bit in the last 18 months. But enough is enough. I hold a few ‘long term’ records already, I don’t need another one for the longest serving loss making Internet marketer north of the equator.

That is why I have a coach now.

You want to know who and why and how I found him? I’ll tell you.

I’m on Alex Jeffreys’ coaching program, WWA (Working With Alex) 3.0. And I’m getting more excited about it by the week. Why? Because Alex delivers big time.

I derived my criteria for the type of coach I was looking for from bitter experience with all those programs I had been on and with all these self styled coaches and mentors. The less said about it the better.

The coach I was looking for would:

  • have a proven track record not only as a coach but also as a successful Internet marketer;
  • show real concern for the success of his students;
  • not be too big and famous a guru because these giants generally ‘outsource’ their coaching, too, hiving their students off to one of their ‘team’;
  • have to be affordable.

How does one find such an Internet marketing coach? By word of mouth, I guess. Not the words mouthed by callers for some of the big guns trying to persuade me that an investment of $5,000 isn’t even worth thinking about if I was serious about success, followed by the usual sales patter offering solutions to my problems, creating fear of loss if I missed this particular boat and then making sure that I was a serious candidate otherwise their very busy line manager wouldn’t be able to call me for further details. No, not these ones.

More like jungle drums. I had picked up bits and pieces of information about Alex Jeffreys from blogs of product owners who had been his students and who had delivered and over-delivered. Until I finally said to myself that I had to be on his coaching program, too. So here I am.

Based on what I had heard and now on my experience with his course, Alex Jeffreys scored top marks on all my criteria and threw in a couple of bonuses, too.

Bonus 1: He really listens to questions and does his best to answer to his students’ needs. He structures his coaching around the needs of his group of ‘coachees’ not around an abstract curriculum or what he feels like teaching. This is rarer than one would like to think.

Bonus 2: He has quite a pedigree having been mentored by big guns like Mike Filsaime, John Reese, Fran Kern and the like. That doesn’t hurt either.

So, after three webinars that had lasted fifteen (15) hours in total, I can’t wait to move on. Forward and upward. Come with me along this road. We start here.

  1. Hey Max,

    I hear you, I’ve been at it for nearly a year, and almost $2000 later, enough is enough. It’s time to get moving!

    All the best

    Tony

  2. Hey Max,

    Don’t know about you, but I was struggling to keep my eyes open by the time it came to the question and answers part, more coffee needed I think.

    Sally 🙂
