Video Marketing – Hype Or Real?

Video marketing is rapidly becoming flavour of the month again.

Why?

Is it because there are a few big guns, aka “gurus”, who are pushing their latest products?

Or is it because… it simply works?

Not putting too fine a point on it, it’s both.

First and foremost, video marketing works. Here is an example: I have a site that keeps getting views although I haven’t done any promotion except uploading 2 videos to Youtube. When I search for the site by its main keyword, I simply cannot find it. Yet daily, new unique visitors arrive at the site (yes, I did install Google analytics) and click through to Amazon (it’s one of those sites 🙂 ), and when I check virtually all the traffic is from Youtube.

Video Marketing Works

Ignore the traffic from “Direct sources” in this screen shot. That was me going to my site while I built it and clicked through testing all the links. The facts that there is no search engine traffic and no keyword in the Google stats proves this point. Youtube traffic is the only genuine traffic coming to my site. I know, the figures are still very low but not only is the site just ten days old, it has not been promoted yet and already received targeted traffic.

Of course, big gun promotions make a difference, too. In fact, this time, one of the biggest guns on the video marketing scene is offering extreme value for money in the prelaunch promotion of his new course. It is simply extraordinary: loaded with tons of valuable information, highly entertaining and it doesn’t cost a penny. It is simply true and great (as opposed to ‘too good to be true’):

No, this is not Yes, this is an affiliate link.* You see, Andy Jenkins, aka the “Video Boss” (IMHO he definitely is it), is about to launch a new version of his high price-tag course. All I can say is GO get his prelaunch videos RIGHT NOW; they’ll take you through a free crash course in video marketing by an established master of the art. But hurry, they won’t be up for long.

Here is what I recommend: Click on

and watch the videos, especially the “Little Boss” and “Traffic Boss” ones. What’s more, Andy actually lets us have the download links for both of them (you bet I used these links). Of course, it’s worth watching the other videos, too. They are all hugely inspiring.

His price tag most likely will not suit the wallet of a lot of people. No worries, take the free information that he very generously puts at our disposal, then watch this space.

In future blog post, I’ll be talking a lot more about video marketing and will point you towards resources and training that are either totally free or very inexpensive. At any rate, they will be right to the point and fabulous value for money if they cost anything.

Not today, though. Today’s fare is entirely free courtesy of the Video Boss.

Go, take action, watch the videos, come back inspired and leave a comment here. I’d really appreciate it.

* I changed my mind. The course is worth every cent after all that I have seen. You cannot get a more complete hands-on, how-to guide to Video creation and Video marketing at this point in time. Check it out. Click on the link above.

  1. Hey Max,

I used to think video was a waste of time, prob cos I wasn’t very good at them, but since I have started adding short tutorials to youtube I have seen a lovely trickle of traffic.

Just need to get my butt in gear and add the videos to some video syndication sites too.

Plus when I made my plugin product “live” the video squeeze page converted at 87% (it did lower with colder traffic) but I have never had a squeeze page convert so well.

Video has many many advantages and anyone marketing needs to ensure they include video marketing in the plans for their business.

    See you in London!

    Sally 🙂

    1. Hi Sally,

You’re absolutely right. Video is King, in fact IM Video is definitely King. I’ll post my experience with a little video that I uploaded to Youtube recently and without doing anything special had it at no.2 in Youtube against 3100 competing videos IN 2 HOURS! Truly amazing.

I’m beginning to reconsider the use of Tubemogul and the free video sharing sites. I never had much traffic from them although some of my videos got more views there than on Youtube. It may have something to do with links on the other sites not being clickable… 🙂

Yes, London it is and I’m sure we’ll both be blogging about it afterwards.

      Take care.

      Max
