7 Reasons Why You Must Add Seminars, Courses And Workshops To Your Product Range

Are you aware of the benefits to be had from adding live training events such as seminars, courses and workshops to your product range?

Here are 7 reasons for doing so…

1. Seminars and workshops can be a repeat business.
This business doesn’t have to be a ‘one-hit wonder’ as many people suppose. You can continually run the same workshop to new clients at regular intervals – say once a month – provided you do as I’ll explain. You can repeatedly run sell-out events month in, month out.

2. Seminars and workshops give you opportunity to travel.
This business is highly PORTABLE – you can run courses wherever there are people! I have organised seminars and workshops in the UK, in Italy, France… This is the perfect business for anyone who enjoys travel.

3. Seminars and workshops can be a great way to create other products.
If you conduct training workshops, it is only logical to record the event to DVD or audio CD. These can be sold to those who can’t attend the workshop but still want the training. Each event normally covers several different topics so there is obvious scope to produce a ‘series’ of recordings.

4. There are almost unlimited topics for training courses & workshops.
Almost any topic lends itself to a training workshop; from computer skills, to hobbies, sports, health topics and work-related tasks.

Finding a niche topic is probably what prevents most people from entering this business but there really are no limits. If there is a book on the subject, there is scope to run a workshop on it and an audience willing to pay to attend.

5. You don’t have to be the expert.
If you don’t have the skills or inclination to conduct your own workshop, you can hire someone to do it for you.

Doing this works to the benefit of the expert you hire (all they have to do is show up and do the training) but it is also good for the organiser. You do all the promotion, book the meeting room, sign up attendees, etc. BUT… you get to keep the lion’s share of the profits.

Becoming a workshop organiser (as opposed to speaker or trainer) can be a very exciting business. You meet a lot of interesting people, get a chance to travel and have an opportunity to make a lot of money – without having to set one foot on stage.

6. You get to generate additional work.
Seminar organisers and speakers attract a lot of attention which helps to position them as experts in their field. Provided you do a good job you no longer have to go touting for other work – satisfied attendees ask for more of your products and services such as consulting work and coaching… as well as more courses.

7. You can make A LOT of money
The very successful people in this business make millions of dollars a year but even small, one-man/woman operations can make a very healthy income from seminars – when they do it right.
